Hand Made Coasters

Iv been making simple little coasters in my free time... I adore stamps and stone so I decided to combine them both into rather delightful coaster. They are really nice to make on a dull afternoon and make lovely gifts for friends and relatives. They are quite easy to make to! Although stamping onto stone is not the easiest, you have apply just the right amount of pressure and ink! As well as giving my tile coasters away as gifts they are my best sellers at craft fairs. On my next raining afternoon off Ill make a simple how to blog but for now why not check out my FaceBook page Pebbles and Blossom... https://www.facebook.com/pebblesandblossom

Relaxing Girly Night n For One

When ever I get the house to myself I jump at the chance to start planing my relaxing girly night in for one. Every girl needs a bit of "me" time every now and then! Mine normally goes a little bit like this:

1) I start my night by deciding If I deserve a naughty snack or if I should go without... This takes a long time and by the time Iv finally decided its normally to late and dark to pop to the shop to grab a bar of galaxy!

2) I like to set the mood! I dim the lights and gather together all of my best candles and light them all. To be honest Im surprised my house is still standing! I LOVE candles...

3) Ill then cook something light and small for dinner.. I normally cook a yummy pasta dish for a treat! I do all my washing up as I go so I don't have to think about it later.. Oh and then Ill gather up anything and everything so I don't have to go down stairs again (yes im a lazy poo).

4) I then get very existed about running a bath! I take of all my makeup and pin my hair back into a messy bun. I grab my candles from my bedroom and place them along the windowsill of the bathroom. Iv become a huge fan of Lush bath bubble bars and bath bombs so I pop one of those bad boys In and watch them fizz away! They smell so yummy!

5) I then normally remember I don't have a drink! so I run back down stairs and make myself a fresh drink of water with frozen berries!

6) After my bath I love nothing better than to snuggle up in bed with a face mask on! Ill watch something on Netflix and stalk people on Instagram.

7) I will then do my nails and probably do some colouring in my very grownup adult colouring in book! Yay :)

Thats about it really... I hope your all having a lovely day and manage to get some girl time when you need it! x x Alee x x

My love for Painted Furniture

Oh my golly I just love love painted furniture and thought it was about time I blogged about it! I always have a project on the go or a project in mind to work my magic on and get stuck into... To the right is one of my projects that Iv worked on, Its had a complete facelift!! I had planed to sell it when it was fully refurbished but I liked it to much I had to keep it! Its just SO beautiful and the colour is amazing! I always use Annie Sloan's calk paints, its not the cheapest at £18 a pot but its super easy to use and it lasts forever! The main bright blue is her Provence shade, the internal doors and cupboard are painted in her Duck Egg Blue and the draws are washed with my own blend of paint witch is similar to her Old Ocher shade. Iv lined the shelf and doors in an amazing flower print. Also iv really gone to town on the old sanding, I never normally go that mad but im so happy with the result!! YAY :)

The thing I love most about painting furniture is the fact your giving it a second chance! A face lift! Just because its old or out of date doesn't mean it has to be chucked in the tip!! This poor cupboard had a wobbly leg and many many mice living in it when I picked it up, it was going to be chucked away.. I gave it some loving and now It has delightful little dresser that I worship to bits :) I think its fair to say im a big believer in make do and mend. Thanks for reading x x The Dyslectic Blogger - Alessandra - Thoughts, Designs and Style

Jurassic World.. Its nearly time !!

Im so excited because its nearly June, I feel as though iv been waiting so long for this film to arrive in cinemas. Iv always been a big fan of all the Jurassic Park films even though they secretly scare me! They have such fun and gripping story lines and the graphics, puppets and set design is always amazing! I love to see how are technologies are developing to make graphics look even more real! EEEK! Also im fascinated about how they have designed the sets, how they keep it looking life like but still modern and futuristic. The architectural structures and interiors are SO inspiring, even though not set far into the future the buildings and forms still look impressive and modern. (Im a secret geek, shhhh don't tell).

The new film brings even more thrills with its new dinosaurs not seen in any of the other films, as well as a new a highbred dinosaur called Indominus rex! The new actors and actresses look amazing with lots of familiar faces to be recognised.

If dinosaurs are not really your cup of tea I would still go along just to drawl over Chris Pratt who plays Owen, a team member of Jurassic World and a behaviour specialist of the Velociraptors. I love his relaxed quirky style of acting and his just very easy to watch! Also Bryce Dallas Howard has a main role playing the parks manager Claire Dearing. She has the most amazing hair! Love it! Another face that most of us will recognise is Lauren Lapkus who stared in Orange is the New Black...

I really really hope this film dose not disappoint and that it lives up to all its expectations! Bring on June the 12th !!!  The Dyslectic Blogger - Alessandra - Thoughts, Designs and Style

Idea For A Hand Made Doles House

This Idea is fab and it looks so simple to make.. Its main frame is block shelving, it could be second hand or new? Its simply just been turned on its side to crate the little modern rooms. You could create wallpaper by using craft paper and add some furniture witch could also be second hand from ebay, you could try re-painting the pieces to make it really personal. Have some fun getting creative making lights and picture frames! I could spend hours creating a little house like this but I have no one to make it for. One day ill make one when I have the excuse! Im sure any child that loves dolls will adore this and then when they are older simply just turn them back into colourful shelves!

I Went to a Spooky Meeting!

As its a dull day I thought I would blog about something I did over the weekend. I was worried but I plucked up the courage to attend a spoooookey meeting! Think they call it a medium? Who knows? Anyway, iv lost loved ones to the sprit world over the years and many of them I never got to say good bye. Iv always been interested/nosey to go along and listen to what the Medium has to say. My Mum enjoys the odd ghostly meeting and she really dose believes that are passed loved ones are always amongst us (I think thats beautiful). Although I also believe that there is something after death, Im not sure if people can really talk with the deceased? Are they just making it all up? It was only £6.50 and Mum said they normally provide nibbles and drinks so I thought why not!? She also promised there would be no sacrificing of small animals and that I wouldn't have to hold hands with an old woman chanting into purple fire!

He started going round the room talking to everyone one by one, asking them questions which they replied yes or no so not to give any thing away. The questions came from the spirit he was communicating with. Some spirits gave him wisdom to pass on or others memories and chit chat. Most people understood who he was talking about and could make a good connection. It was weird, mysterious, a bit creepy but most of all fascinating! It got later and later into the meeting and finally it was mine and Mums turn. He spoke to mum first and didn't really give away much, he said that she was a reincarnation and that she was on the earth to finish of something from her last life. I thought that was strange but Mum thought that was amazing! He also said by the end of the year things will become more clear and strait forward, even if he did just make that up its nice to hear! OH also he said she might start hearing voices haha Perfect!

By this time I was becoming nervous about talking out loud in front of a small crowd of people, I have a tendency to panic and say something odd but funny... The truth is I did say some thing odd! He asked me what my name was and I said its Alee, any way he couldn't understand what the hell I was trying to say, so instead of shouting Alee again I just said "you no like an alee-way"! Every one laughed thank the lord baby Jesus!! It soon went quiet and he started asking me questions, I replied yes to most and no to some. He then said that the spirt was presenting him a diamond.. A diamond with many holes, nooks and carnies. He said they represented all my thoughts, ideas and concerns for the future. The woman wanted me to know that my path will become clear and to stop worrying. This really related to me in a big way, so I was chuffed... Then he asked me how many ladies in my family had passed away, me and mum slowly replied 2. The man then said that the woman felt forgotten and that I should send my thoughts her way more often.  I was shocked and saddened by this, what relative could I be looking passed? He then asked me one last question. "Am I talking to your mother in the spirit world?" I said back "no because she's sitting next to me." He left me with that and moved onto the next person... I was left a bit shocked and It got me thinking. He must of been seeing a younger woman rather than my older relatives? Then it suddenly dawned on me that I had lost 3 female relatives not 2! My Nanna passed away when I was a baby, she was young and I feel so much love for her even though I don't really no her? May be it was her talking to me? Or maybe It was my alive mother in her pasted life talking to me... Is that even possible? Spoooookey! x x x  The Dyslectic Blogger - Alessandra - Thoughts, Designs and Style

Building a Minnie House At The Bottom Of The Garden

Ok so Iv recently moved back home with my mad curly haired Mother, my fisherman Father and brave little Brother and to be truthful its been lovely being back home. Im SO grateful to have them all by my side when I need them most! But it's hard not having my own space, I guess its more strange than anything. Iv had a good 5 years of walking round in my pants and peeing with the door open! So my thoughtful Mum came up with an idea, a very spiffing idea! "Why don't we building a minnie minnie house at the bottom of the garden!" lets face it, it would be SO pretty! Although are garden isn't huge, iv designed a space that could work well... It includes a nice sized work shop for dad, a small living/kitchen space for me and a over head sleeping compartment. It will be cladded on the outside and have a corrugated pitched roof. Oh golly im existed! Even if it never happens its a nice distraction from every thing rubbish at the moment! As you can see, in my excitement iv put together little inspiration board... Yes im sad and have way to much time on my hands at the moment but look how unbelievably cute they are!! Its like the building version of puppies, kittens and micro pigs! Ooohh golly, I cant get over how adorable they are... How would I ever leave? Maybe thats Mums plan? Make some thing so beyond cute that I never leave the nest agin! Or she wants to steel my vintage seaside themed room back! Hmm... Or they could all just be really fed up with my silly face but don't have the heart to chuck me out onto the street? Who knows?? Im not complaining :) x x x The Dyslectic Blogger - Alessandra - Thoughts, Designs and Style

Pressed Flower Necklace & Mr Squeak the Field Mouse

I made this simple little pendent yesterday while the rain was poring down. I love being arty when its wet and stormy out side.. Nice cup of tea, slippers, baggy jumper, Netflix, pressing flowers and making a huge mess in the hope of making some thing pretty on a dull day. It makes me smile. Lots..

I had never pressed flowers into a necklace pendent before but it seemed like a good idea and it was. There is something so simple and beautiful about this... I have so many loving childhood memories of the forget me not flower. I love the its delicate little violet blue flowers and the way its stems tangle and spiral together underneath.  Also the name of the plant is so charming! You could imagine all the little creatures telling there secrets and stories amongst the forget me nots... Never to be forgotten by the delightful forget me not plant... Ok iv got carried away!! This post was meant to be about a necklace not a plant and how it will never forget Mr Squeak's confession about how he ate all the cheese one night with Sir Roger and passed out under the toadstool!! Golly, ok ill stop now... Hope you all had a delightful weekend x

The Me, You and Us book! by Lisa Currie

Me, You and Us...

Love this book SO much! The Me, You and Us book is a doodle/fill it in book. Its designed to be filled out with your friends or loved ones. It asks you to fill out all sorts of things! It starts of relatively normal. How did you meet? Challenges we helped each other through. Draw six of your best moments together but then it gets even more fun.. Draw your matching tattoos. Draw your sheared bedroom. Nice things we could do for each other coupons. Right a card to each other. Its SUCH a fun book! It was a fab  present to receive as it gets you reminiscing about the old times and thinking about whats to come! Love Love Love it and would really recommend it ... Gives you an excuse to see your best friends to!

Beauty Begins the Moment You Decide to be Yourself

Beauty Begins the Moment You Decide to be Yourself.

Being your true self is more beautiful than hiding yourself within the idea of beauty.
Be your self every day. Dress to make your self feel good on the inside. Have fun with makeup for your own benefit not others. Spend hours on your hair because it benefits you. Do what you enjoy and be yourself because Inner beauty shines brighter than outer beauty.

Personal Touch to Gift Wrapping

Im always looking for new ways to add a personal touch to gift wrapping... This is a fab idea and wont cost much! I always uses brown paper to wrap my gifts, I get this from the postage section of shops like Wilkinsons or the Range as its SO much cheeper than purchasing in the wrapping paper section. Simply use a stamp of your own choice, a heart, flower, bug for a boy or any thing that flouts your boat! I once stamped the initial of a friends first name amongst some hearts and that looked rather sweet. Stamp away in any colour...Why not mutable!! Leave until its touch dry and be sure to stamp on the matt side rather than glossy, you dont want any smudging! Have fun stamping x

My Grandad Called Me Old!

....My 24th Birthday Weekend....

Oh my golly, im feeling very lucky! My birthday weekend was just the pick-me-up I needed. I really wanted to blog about my simple yet perfect weekend... To shear with others and so I never  forget... I spent a lot of my weekend seeing all my favourite people. We explored new places and ate way to much cake! I spent the Friday with my dearest man friend who is a coffee addict just like me! We met in a little town called Arundel, I love this place SO much! Its just the perfect British town, It has a castle, river, stunning antique shops, cobble streets, amazing architecture and a huge duck pond! Its just perfect! We had a rainy lunch in an Italian called La Campania... If your ever in Arundel be sure to visit. Its so delicious and great value for money with its lunch time deal (Wine, Starter and main for £12). We wanted to go and feed the ducks at the ducky pond but it was raining cats and dogs so we heading to Sparks Yard to have a nose in the home department and have a coffee in the Loft. As it was still bucketing it down we went back to his cottage to try some sea salted fudge and to watch an episode of Games of Thrones that I had missed (shock horror!!).
-----
After nattering we jumped in my top-hat of a car and headed down to the Swallows Return in Goring to meet up with my family for a feast! I had the pate to start and for main the battered halloumi cheese, love love love it!! We then all headed of to my our family home to wolf down some cake that my brother had backed for me while I was out! It was a huge, massive, tremendous chocolate brownie caramel and popcorn cake! I then opened all my lovely gifts including my first anti ageing/fatigue moisturiser! I got the Skin Perfection by Loreal.. I believe this is a big sign of getting old... even my Grandad told me I was old! sheeeesh!! I also got a lovely clover necklace, foxy egg cup, socks, blusher, the secret garden colouring in book (because im all old and grown up now?) and the harajuku lovers G perfume (so nice! Smells like cocktails and holiday)
-----
The next day... I started of my day by cooking a nice healthy breakfast and then being dragged to a CX workout class at the local gym!  After nearly collapsing in a heap at the gym I took my Mum for coffee at the Beach House in sunny Worthing before going to try on and text foundations. My hunt for a great foundation still continues! After trying on so many shades of foundation I went home and got ready for my night out with the twins! We headed into town and had an yummy dinner and cocktails at Liming! We giggled the night away and I opened some presents from them. They gave me a hand made cake, a gift card for a spar treatment, a black cock keyring (why not) and a me you and us book! SO fun!!
-------
So Sunday... I got up and stayed in my huge Bridget Jones pants for as long as possible before heading to Sunday brunch with my collage girl friends. I chucked on my big stitched baggy jumper and hopped into chick peas minnie. We met the rest of the girls at Wiston Granagry, a stunning tearoom hidden in the heart of the south downs. We spent the morning eating, drinking tea, feeding chickens and laughing. The sun came out and we decided to go for a walk amongst the bluebells.  While driving up a winding country road we found the perfect spot. We quickly pulled over to park not realising that we had only just missed a rather deep ditch by about an inch!  Thankful to be alive we adventured into the classic British woodland. Walking down wiggling paths, jumping over streams, dodging the sticky mud and listening to the birds sing. The ground was a beautiful sea of blue and purple. We got carried away taking photos and mounted a fallen tree for a quick brake. Stumbling through an ankle twisting field we came across a group of horses on the other side of the fence. We were greeted by the most gentle horses, one rested its huge faces on my shoulder and let me give him a neck rub. Horse friends hehe
-----
I then went home and that was that.. Im now eating my wait in cake.... Jolly good show I say old bean

Praying for a Good Ride

Ok so tomorrow im turning 24! Im really looking forward to spending time with my family, friends and eating lots of yummy food but this year im honestly dreading it... Not the birthday itself but the ageing part. Yes I no its only a number and yes I no its only 24 but I feel I should no who I am by now, at least I think?

The past year has been challenging. My brother Is recovering from cancer, my relationship that I thought was going to last a life time broke down, Iv moved back in with my parents, my best buddy Bertie the dog became very ill and I could be jobless. Im always asking myself whats next, what job do I want, how can I do better, how can I feel fulfilled or how can I better my self. Being 20 something is hard, everything gets more serious and people expected more of you. Life challenges you in ways our young minds would never imagine but we should remember we are not alone. The worst feeling is to feel alone but every one had/has to live there 20s. We should be creative with our young lives, your 20's are the time for trying new things and experimenting. SO I guess im going to have to grab the terrifying bull by its horns and pray for a good ride!

Stratford Upon Avon Brain Tumour Charity

I came across this rusty doorknob while I was wondering the cobbled streets of Stratford Upon Avon last summer. We traveled up from the sunny South Coast to drop my little brother off at a brain tumour charity event. His such a brave cookie! This photo reminds me of how brave he was that day. He sheared his wisdom and his personal brain tumour experiences with others with hope to help them in some way.

The Beauty of Nature in the Home

This year im going to try and bring the outside in. We should celebrate natural forms, textures and colours by bringing nature into your home. Plants, pebbles and all sorts of blossom. The trees in this bedroom frame the view out side perfectly, its organic and friendly, yet fun and slightly theatrical. Enjoy the beauty of nature as much as you can. Its so effortless

Little Heaven Under The Stairs

What a good idea and relatively easy to do! I would do this in my house if I didn't have so much stuff piled into the cupboard. I could lose hours on a wet windy day reading and watching films in this little cuddle heaven.

Beautiful Bathroom

This is a beautiful bathroom!

I Love the deep ocean blue tiles and the shower head position is very clever. Imagine showering whilst its ranging out side!

This design shows that bathrooms do work with pitched ceilings. I adore every thing about this space, the bath is beautiful and the slippers are also quite cute! The one thing that bothers me about the space is the oversized stud tiles in the shower, I would be washing with a constant fear of slightly stabbing myself!
